Healing Den
Healing Den
The Healing Den is where sick and injured pets receive treatment. Healing is not a single magic button: conditions can require resources, time, attention, and an available healer.
What the Healing Den Shows
- Pets with injuries, illness, or other treatable conditions.
- Severity, current health, and treatment needs.
- Available healers and whether a pet has already been assigned help.
- Warnings when herbs, beds, or other supplies are running low.
Assigning Healers
Ordinary colony members may assign their own eligible healer pets. Colony leaders and pets with the special All access role may manage a wider set of healer assignments. When another player’s pet is involved, the system may require that owner’s approval before the assignment takes effect.
Assigned healers can automatically help treat a patient over time, using colony resources when needed. Healing is not risk-free: a healer working around contagious illness may become sick as well.
Self-Treatment
Some pets may attempt to treat themselves. This is risky. A desperate fox with a mouthful of herbs and confidence vastly exceeding its medical training can make a bad situation worse.
Quarantine
Pets with contagious or dangerous conditions should be moved to the Quarantine Den. Quarantined pets are handled separately from the normal Healing Den list so illness does not quietly tour the colony like an unwanted bard.
Tips
- Keep a varied herb supply instead of waiting for a crisis.
- Pay attention to bedding, water quality, crowding, weather, and spoiled food. Prevention is often cheaper than treatment.
- Untreated illness can worsen, spread, or become fatal.
