The Apothecary is where herbs and healing supplies can be prepared, dried, sorted, or turned into more useful medicine where supported.

What the Apothecary Does

The Apothecary may support:

--drying fresh herbs

--preparing medicine

--organizing healer supplies

--turning gathered herbs into longer-lasting stock

--supporting sickness, injury, quarantine, pregnancy, kits, elders, or travel prep

Fresh Herbs vs. Dried Herbs

Fresh herbs can be useful, but they may spoil or wither.

Dried herbs usually last longer, but they may be weaker or less flexible depending on the system.

Why Dry Herbs

Drying herbs can help the colony prepare for:

--winter

--sickness outbreaks

--raids

--travel danger

--pregnancy or kit trouble

--elder care

--bad weather

--quarantine pressure

Healer Eligibility Still Matters

Prepared medicine does not help if no eligible healer can use it.

A healer may be unavailable if they are sick, injured, starving, dehydrated, exhausted, quarantined, pregnant, dead, sleeping, or busy elsewhere.
