Apothecary
Apothecary
The Apothecary is where fresh herbs are dried for longer storage. Drying helps the colony prepare for sickness without relying entirely on fragile fresh supplies.
Drying Racks
- Fresh herbs are placed onto available drying racks.
- Each rack has limited capacity.
- A drying batch requires time before it can be collected.
- Racks must be built and maintained. They do not remain perfect forever.
Weather and Conditions
Dry, warm, stable weather can help herbs dry properly. Rain, heavy humidity, storms, and poor rack condition can slow or complicate the process.
Fresh Versus Dried Herbs
- Fresh herbs are often more potent but spoil sooner.
- Dried herbs last longer but may be weaker.
Tips
Do not wait until the last herb is wilting dramatically on the shelf before starting a drying batch. Rotate supplies while the colony is healthy.
