Quarantine Den
The Quarantine Den separates contagious, risky, or badly sick pets from the rest of the colony. It is part of the broader Healing Den system.
Why Quarantine Exists
Some illnesses and conditions can threaten more than one pet. Quarantine helps reduce spread while the colony treats the patient.
Quarantine Capacity
Quarantine space is limited. If beds are full, the colony may struggle to isolate new patients.
Who Should Be Quarantined
Quarantine may be used for:
- Contagious sickness.
- Severe or suspicious symptoms.
- Pets exposed to contamination or disease risk.
- Patients who should not be near kits, elders, pregnant pets, or crowded sleeping spaces.
Healer Risk
Assigned healers can help treat quarantined pets, but working with contagious patients may expose the healer. A sick healer may become unavailable for normal treatment.
Quarantine Does Not Fix Everything
Quarantine reduces spread. It does not replace herbs, clean bedding, safe water, food, rest, or actual treatment.
Related Colony Hazards
Quarantine pressure can become worse when the colony also has:
- Unsafe or contaminated water.
- Spoiled food or wilted herbs.
- Wet, dirty, or damaged bedding.
- Unresolved deceased remains.
- High pest or predator pressure.
Colony Pulse
Quarantine needs and untreated sickness may appear in the Colony Pulse. Clear the actual issue rather than only dismissing the notice.
