Water stores
Water Stores
The Water Stores hold the colony’s drinking water. Water is not automatically safe just because there is a number beside it. Quantity, quality, weather, and storage conditions all matter.
Water Conditions
- Fresh water is safe for normal use.
- Stagnant or questionable water may become risky if ignored.
- Contaminated water can contribute to illness and should not be treated as harmless reserve stock.
Weather Effects
Rain can help refill supplies, while heat and drought can reduce them through evaporation or scarcity. Storms, flooding, algae, nearby decay, and poor maintenance can also affect water safety.
Alerts
The Colony Pulse can report low reserves, evaporation, stagnant water, and contamination.
Tips
- Do not wait until the colony is thirsty to inspect the water supply.
- Hot weather can turn a comfortable reserve into a rapidly shrinking puddle.
- Handle deceased pets, spoiled supplies, and waste carefully so contamination does not spread into the water system.
