Sleeping den
Sleeping Den
The Sleeping Den is where colony pets rest. Sleep, bedding, space, cleanliness, and weather protection all affect colony health.
Why Sleep Matters
Tired pets are less useful and less safe. Exhaustion can block work, travel, training, raids, and other dangerous actions.
Beds and Capacity
Sleeping space is limited. If the colony has more pets than safe beds, overcrowding can create stress, sickness pressure, and poor recovery.
Bedding Condition
Bedding can become wet, dirty, damaged, or unsafe.
Bad bedding can contribute to:
- Sickness risk.
- Parasites, pests, or mold pressure.
- Poor rest and lower recovery.
- Mood strain.
- Higher risk for kits, elders, sick pets, and pregnant pets.
Weather Pressure
Rain, cold, heat, snow, flooding, smoke, and damp weather can all make sleeping conditions worse if the den is not maintained.
Builders and Repairs
Builders can help maintain, repair, or improve den structures where supported. Materials such as wood, stone, reeds, moss, bedding, or other gathered supplies may be needed.
Hygiene Pressure
Dirty or wet bedding is not just ugly den flavor. Bedding problems can stack with unsafe water, spoiled supplies, sickness, pests, and unresolved remains to create worse colony health pressure.
