Pets
Pets
Pets are the heart of Feral Rise. They are not only profile images or breeding projects: they are living colony members with age, needs, roles, condition, family ties, supplies, and risk.
What a Pet Has
A pet may have:
- Name and species - Such as fox or rabbit.
- Age in days - A clearer way to see where the pet is in its life.
- Life stage - Kit, apprentice, adult, elder, or a related stage label.
- Role - Such as leader, healer, caretaker, builder, scout, warrior, wetnurse, reserve, or recruit.
- Stats - Strength, agility, and intellect.
- Needs - Health, hunger, thirst, energy, and mood.
- Combat readiness - A rough battle estimate based on stats and experience.
- Family links - Parents, children, breeding history, and relatedness.
- Gear and supplies - Functional equipment and carried pouch items when applicable.
Species
Different species have different rules. Foxes and rabbits are both colony pets, but they do not eat exactly the same foods and cannot breed with one another.
Read Species Guide for details.
Age and Growth
The game still uses level-based growth underneath, but many pages now emphasize age in days and stage labels so players can understand a pet's actual age more clearly.
Read Life Stages, Age, and Elders.
Condition Matters
A pet's needs affect what they can safely do. A hungry, thirsty, exhausted, sick, injured, pregnant, quarantined, or sleeping pet may be blocked from dangerous work or passed over by automated systems.
Death
Pets can die from old age, sickness, injury, battle, travel danger, neglect, and other survival consequences. Death records belong in the Graveyard, and the colony may still need Deceased Care afterward.
