Pets
Pets
Pets are the creatures you raise, protect, train, and send into the wilderness in Feral Rise. They are not decorative collectibles standing politely on a shelf. Every pet has needs, strengths, risks, relationships, and a place in the colony's survival.
Starting Out
New players begin by adopting two starter pets. One becomes the active pet and the other provides a reserve option. Additional pets are usually gained through breeding, wanderer encounters, and other in-world systems.
Current Species
- Foxes – Flexible omnivorous predators with strong survival, scouting, hunting, and combat potential.
- Rabbits – Herbivorous colony members with their own strengths, care rules, and survival identity. Rabbits do not eat meat.
See Species Guide for the gameplay differences.
What Every Pet Has
- Vitals – Health, hunger, thirst, energy, and mood.
- Stats – Strength, agility, and intellect.
- Life stage – Young pets grow through several stages before adulthood.
- Role – A colony job such as healer, caretaker, builder, scout, warrior, wetnurse, reserve, or recruit.
- Traits and mutations – Inherited or naturally occurring differences that may affect appearance, health, and survival.
- Inventory and gear – Carried supplies, bags, equipment, and optional dress-up visuals.
Care Matters
Pets can become hungry, thirsty, exhausted, injured, sick, or stressed. Weather, bedding, contaminated water, spoiled food, dangerous trips, battles, mutations, and poor preparation can all matter. A pet who dies is recorded in the graveyard and must be handled through the colony's deceased-care system.
