Combat Level and Battle Readiness
Combat Level and Battle Readiness
Combat level is a quick estimate of how ready a pet is for dangerous fights. It helps players compare pets against enemies, defenders, and training choices without reading every stat line like a panicked accountant in the underbrush.
What Raises Combat Level
Combat level is influenced by:
- Stats - Strength, agility, and intellect all contribute to the pet's overall readiness.
- Experience - A pet who has trained or survived more work becomes more capable over time.
Adding both experience and stats can make combat level rise.
What Combat Level Does Not Guarantee
Combat level is not a magic shield. A pet can still lose if:
- They are injured, sick, exhausted, starving, or dehydrated.
- The enemy has a dangerous trait or better matchup.
- The pet has no herbs, water, gear, or carrying space.
- Weather, terrain, or event conditions are bad.
- The fight is simply riskier than it looked. The woods do that.
Why Battle Pages Show It
Battle, territory, and training pages may show combat level so players know what to level against enemies. It is especially useful when deciding whether to challenge a defender, train a weaker pet, or retreat and come back later.
Age Still Matters
Combat level should be read alongside age and life stage. Kits and apprentices are not the same as adults, and elders may carry extra risk even when they are experienced.
Training for Combat Level
Training can improve stats and experience. Both can help combat level climb. Different drills may suit different roles, so not every pet needs the same build.

Echo Note - Training and readiness
Training can help build stats and readiness, but it does not make a pet invincible. Age, combat level, health, energy, hunger, thirst, injuries, sickness, gear, and actual battle danger still matter.
