Challenging Enemy Tiles

When a scout enters or studies a tile controlled by another colony, the scout may discover a chance to challenge the tile's defender.

How Challenges Work

  • Enemy-controlled tiles can have defending pets or hostile occupants.

  • A challenge is an intentional risky action, not a casual gathering trip.

  • The defender may be AI-controlled based on the pet or enemy protecting that tile.

  • Winning can help the colony push control or progress on that tile.

  • Losing can cost Health, supplies, progress, or worse.

Choosing a Challenger

Challenge pages may show age-stage and combat-readiness information. Use it. A pet with a much lower combat level than the defender is probably not about to have a pleasant afternoon.

Combat level is based on stats and experience, but condition still matters. A strong pet who is injured, thirsty, hungry, exhausted, or poorly supplied can still lose.

After a Challenge

A challenge may affect tile control, activity logs, wounds, carried items, and future patrol needs. Territory is not only claimed once and forgotten. It must be watched, patrolled, and defended.
