The Training Grounds help pets practice skills tied to colony work, stats, and battle readiness.
Training Slots
Training space is limited. A colony cannot safely train every pet at once, so choose trainees with purpose.
What Training Can Improve
Training may help a pet gain:
- Strength - Useful for warriors, builders, carrying, and physical challenges.
- Agility - Useful for scouts, dodging, travel, and some combat situations.
- Intellect - Useful for healers, caretakers, builders, tactics, and careful work.
- Experience - Helps the pet grow more capable over time.
Combat Level
Combat level rises from a mixture of the pet's experience and stats. Training can improve battle readiness because it can increase the numbers combat level looks at.
Combat level is still only an estimate. A prepared pet with supplies is safer than a high-number pet sent into danger while hungry, thirsty, and carrying nothing but confidence and a leaf.
Role Drills
Different drills may suit different jobs:
- Warrior drills lean toward direct combat readiness.
- Scout drills support travel, awareness, and dangerous outside work.
- Builder drills support fortification, repair, and physical work.
- Healer and caretaker learning benefit from intellect and steady support.
Risks and Closures
Weather, predator pressure, injuries, sickness, or damaged training grounds may affect safety. Risky training can help a pet improve faster, but it is not harmless.

Training Grounds may need shelter, fencing, lookout support, or other upkeep to stay safer during weather, predator pressure, or risky drills. Builders and materials can matter here too.
A training yard is not safer just because everyone agreed to call it a training yard. The mud remains unconvinced.

Training may become riskier or be limited during storms, heat, cold, smoke, flooding, predator pressure, or unsafe ground conditions. Practice is useful. Heatstroke practice is not.
