Materials and Colony Upkeep
Materials and Colony Upkeep
Materials are the non-food supplies used for repairs, upgrades, crafting, fortification, bedding, tools, and den maintenance.
[h2]Common Material Types</h2]
Materials may include:
- Wood and branches.
- Stone, clay, or mineral-like finds.
- Reeds, moss, fibers, leaves, and bedding materials.
- Hide, fur, bones, teeth, claws, shells, or other processed materials.
- Special materials from exploration, fishing, events, or crafting discoveries.
[h2]Where Materials Come From</h2]
Materials can be gained through:
- Harvesting Resources
- Exploring
- Scouting
- Fishing
- Deceased Care processing where appropriate.
[h2]Why Upkeep Matters</h2]
Materials keep the colony functioning. Without upkeep, dens can become unsafe, bedding can fail, fortifications can weaken, and useful systems may become harder to operate.
[h2]Storage</h2]
Materials are not always identical just because they share a category. Some systems may track stack type, source, quality, decay, contamination, or special use.
