Fishing
Fishing
Fishing uses water territory and local ecology to determine what a pet can catch. Fish are real biome resources, not an infinite decorative dispenser with scales.
Where Fishing Happens
A colony needs access to a suitable water or fishing tile. Coastal water, freshwater areas, swamps, and other watery biomes can support different catches.
Fish Pools
- Different biomes contain different fish pools.
- Weather, drought, season, algae growth, water quality, and repeated fishing can affect what appears.
- Rare fish may require specific conditions or a lucky day beside the water.
Risk
Fishing is calmer than charging into an enemy tile, but it is not completely safe. Predators may steal a catch when food is scarce. A pet may sense danger and warn the player before continuing. Severe encounters, including rare fatal ones, are possible in especially dangerous situations.
Spoilage
Fish spoil quickly unless stored or preserved properly. Salted or dried fish can last longer when the colony has the right resources and conditions.
