Bags and Carrying
Bags and Carrying
Pets do not have invisible wagon trains tucked behind their ears. Carrying space limits how much a pet can safely take on a trip and how much loot can return home.
Base Pouch
Every pet has a small base pouch. Capacity can improve with age, strength, species, condition, and equipped bags.
Pet Bags
- Different bags offer different capacities and may suit different kinds of trips.
- Heavy or bulky items can take more room than small supplies.
- A pet cannot swap into a smaller bag if the new capacity would strand carried items.
Protected Preparation Slots
Some trip supplies, such as emergency herbs or water, may use protected preparation slots. These exist so a pet can carry basic survival supplies without every emergency herb being replaced by the first shiny rock encountered outside.
Overflow
Found loot does not automatically teleport into colony storage. If the pet lacks room, excess supplies can be lost. A temporary protected overflow pouch may appear when equipment changes would otherwise strand items, but the owner must clear it before normal carrying space works smoothly again.
Death Risk
A pet that dies during an outing can lose carried supplies. Preparation is important, but every item taken into danger is still a real item taken into danger.
