Live Catch Pool

The Live Catch Pool is where certain living fishing finds wait for a decision. Not every catch should instantly become food or inventory. Some catches are alive, unusual, useful, dangerous, or worth documenting.

Why It Exists

Live catches create a pause between catching something and deciding its fate. This helps the site support more interesting outcomes than "fish appears, fish vanishes, fish becomes number."

Possible Decisions

Depending on the catch and current systems, you may be able to:

  • Keep the catch for a future feature, record, or collection route.

  • Release it back into the water.

  • Process it into food or resources when appropriate.

  • Log or study the catch for gallery, discovery, or ecology records.

  • Discard or isolate risky catches when contamination or danger is involved.

Not All Catches Are Safe

A live catch may be diseased, strange, aggressive, contaminated, or connected to a larger water problem. Some outcomes may warn the colony through Colony Pulse.

Ecology

Live catches can help show that water spaces are part of the world, not just a loot bucket wearing a pond costume. Releasing, overfishing, contamination, weather, and repeated pressure may all matter as the system grows.
