Exploring

Exploring sends a pet into the surrounding world to search for mixed finds, events, resources, and trouble. It sits between focused hunting and territory-focused scouting.

What Exploring Can Find

Exploring may uncover:

  • Food, herbs, wood, stone, or other useful resources.

  • Unusual items, crafting leads, or discovery hints.

  • Events, small stories, or environmental signs.

  • Dangerous encounters, predators, illness risk, or injury.

Preparation

Exploring is safer when the pet is healthy, fed, hydrated, rested, and prepared.
Bring enough bag space for finds, but do not forget protected travel supplies when available.

What Affects Exploring

  • Weather - Storms, heat, cold, snow, mud, or fog can change risk and rewards.

  • Biome and nearby tiles - Different areas may support different resources.

  • Ecology pressure - Overuse and scarcity can change what the area offers.

  • Pet condition</b] - Injured, sick, thirsty, hungry, exhausted, or very vulnerable pets are poor candidates.

Exploring vs. Scouting

Exploring is not the same as scouting.

  • Exploring searches the world for mixed finds and events.</li]
[li]Scouting interacts more directly with territory tiles, patrols, claiming, and enemy control.</li]

Danger

Exploring is not harmless. Pets can lose supplies, become injured, trigger battle, or die when conditions are bad enough.

Ruin exploration is not ordinary wandering. Ruins may carry extra danger from unstable structures, old contamination, pests, predators, remains, ambushes, bad weather, and lost supplies.
