Wanderers
🦊 Wanderers
"Some say the wind carries lost souls… others just call them wanderers."
Overview
Wanderers are lone creatures that occasionally appear near your colony.
They can show up during scouting missions or sometimes just wander in on their own.
Each wanderer is a unique creature with random stats, traits, and looks — and you can choose to adopt them into your colony or let them move on.
How Wanderers Appear
• During a scouting mission, there’s a small chance your scouts will encounter a wanderer.
• They may also arrive randomly during the day (from daily events).
• When one appears, a message will show up on your Scout Hub or Colony Page.
Example message:
"A lost wanderer has been spotted near the treeline. They seem timid, but curious..."
Adopting a Wanderer
If you choose to invite them in:
• They are added to your colony as a reserve member.
• They gain your colony’s name and territory tag.
• Their stats, coat, and traits are randomly generated.
• They’ll appear in your colony list just like any other pet!
If you ignore them, they will disappear after a short time.
Wanderer Traits
Each wanderer has:
• Random name (generated from the NPC name system)
• Random gender and age (kit, adolescent, or adult)
• Random coat and mutations
• Random stat quality:
Each wanderer rolls a tier that shapes their stats and “feel”:
Tier Chance Stat Range (approx) Notes
Terrible 10% 1–3 (+penalties) May be cursed gremlin energy
Poor 20% 2–6 Rough start, fixable
Average 40% 3–8 (+small bonus) Bread-and-butter
Good 20% 5–10 (+solid bonus) Feels strong
Exceptional 10% 7–12 (+big bonus) Chef’s kiss 💅
Vitals (mood, energy, thirst, hunger) also nudge up/down with the tier.
Inbreeding and energy/mood levels are also randomized, just like naturally bred pets.
Wanderer Images
Depending on their age, wanderers display different base images:

• Adolescent: images/levels/childbasic/greychild.png
• Adult: Randomly chosen from:

Tips
• Wanderers can sometimes have rare coats or high stats—don’t overlook them!
• Some colonies take pride in adopting wanderers to strengthen their ranks.
• The chance of meeting a wanderer increases slightly if your colony is peaceful or well-known.
"Not all who wander are lost… some are just waiting to be found."
