Colony Collapse and Ruins
Colony Collapse and Ruins
A colony can fail. Feral Rise is a survival game, and a colony without living members or a valid successor may eventually become a ruin.
What Collapse Means
When a colony collapses, its normal progress does not carry safely into a fresh replacement colony.
This can include:
- Stored colony resources.
- Built upgrades and den improvements.
- Fortification progress.
- Other colony-specific survival progress tied to the fallen group.
A replacement colony starts again rather than inheriting a fully furnished fortress from the ruins.
Ruins Can Be Ravaged
A fallen colony can leave supplies behind in the world. Other players may be able to ravage an open ruin for resources before nothing useful remains.
Ravaging is not a magical copy button. Supplies taken from the ruins are leftovers from a collapsed colony, and a ruin can eventually be picked clean.
Pets and Personal Items
Not every object follows the same rule:
- Ordinary colony supplies belong to the failed colony's survival state.
- Some rare treasures may follow their owner rather than vanish with the colony.
- Cosmetic items and protected appearance items are handled differently from ordinary survival resources.
- Functional gear should not be confused with protected cosmetics simply because it also has artwork.
Preventing Collapse
- Keep a living active pet or valid reserve successor available.
- Watch the Colony Pulse for urgent warnings.
- Maintain food, water, herbs, bedding, quarantine capacity, and defenses.
- Assign roles instead of leaving every task to one exhausted woodland administrator.
