Faux and System Messages

Faux is the site's system sender and automation voice. Faux may send messages about important events, deaths, warnings, consequences, or background system results.

Faux is not the same as F.O.X.S., the suspicious green-box creature.

What Faux Messages Can Cover

Faux/system messages may be used for:

  • Pet death notifications.

  • Old-age passing notices.

  • Battle, raid, scouting, or travel aftermath.

  • Colony danger or major survival outcomes.

  • Deceased-care or graveyard-related follow-up.

  • System cleanup or repair notices where supported.

Former Owner Logic

After death, a pet may move under system/Faux ownership. Because of that, death notifications and deceased-care access should use the pet's former owner or death record when needed, not only the pet's current owner after death.

This prevents a dead pet from quietly taking its notifications into the system drawer and locking the former owner outside with a sad sandwich.

Faux vs. NPC Ownership

Faux may also be used as a system-side owner for NPC or background records. This helps keep NPC pets separate from normal player ownership.

Faux vs. F.O.X.S.

Faux and F.O.X.S. are different things:

  • Faux is the system sender/automation-side identity.

  • F.O.X.S. is the suspicious character/entity connected to its own lore and page.

Faux is the system sender/automation-side identity. F.O.X.S. is the strange observer/chat/green-box entity. Similar fox-shaped letters, different beast.

Faux is the system sender/automation-side identity. Other strange signals may exist, but not everything should be explained neatly in the help pages.
