Colony Diary

The Colony Diary records important colony moments in a softer story-like format.

[h2]What May Become a Diary Entry</h2]
Diary entries may include:

  • Old-age passing and gentler death entries.

  • Major pet deaths or memorial moments.

  • Births, kits, family events, or nursery changes.</li]
    [li]Leadership changes or colony instability.</li]
[li]Raid aftermath, defender losses, or recovery.</li]
[li]Snail bonding, mourning, comfort, or story events.</li]
[li]Strange catches, ecology events, or Chaos-flavored happenings where supported.</li]

[h2]Diary vs. Logs</h2]
Logs record what happened. Diary entries can make important moments feel more personal, readable, and colony-centered.

[h2]Old Age Entries</h2]
Old-age passing entries should use gentler wording than ordinary danger deaths. Elders who pass from old age are part of the colony's lived history, not just a red warning line.

[h2]Former Owner and System Records</h2]
If a pet moves under Faux/system ownership after death, diary and message systems should still use former-owner or death-record information where needed.

[h2]Not Every Event Needs One</h2]
The Diary should highlight important moments. If every berry becomes a diary chapter, the colony will need a librarian and possibly a small forklift.
