Chaos
Chaos
Chaos is a colony pressure system tied to strange events, consequences, rituals, neglect, and the less tidy parts of survival.
Chaos is not meant to be a perfectly exposed math bar. Players may see hints, warnings, strange outcomes, or ritual-related effects, but the exact rules are intentionally left somewhat mysterious.
Types of Chaos
Chaos can lean in different directions.
- Good Chaos - Helpful, lucky, protective, or unexpectedly gentle strangeness.
- Bad Chaos - Harmful, risky, punishing, or worsening consequences.
- Wild Chaos - Unstable, weird, surprising, or unpredictable results that may not fit neatly into helpful or harmful.
Where Chaos Can Come From
Chaos pressure may connect to:
- Rituals and cleansing choices.
- Neglected colony problems.
- Unresolved remains and contamination.
- Weather, sickness, scarcity, predator pressure, or strange events.
- Choices that invite risk, luck, or consequence.
Why It Is Vague
Chaos is supposed to feel like the woods are responding, not like a machine politely printing its entire source code onto a leaf.
Players may learn patterns over time, but the wiki will not list every trigger, number, or outcome. Some things are more fun when the forest keeps its little secrets.
Warnings
Chaos-related warnings may appear through Colony Pulse, event text, ritual pages, or aftermath messages.
