Pregnancy
Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a timed life-stage system for adult pets after successful breeding.
Length
Pregnancy commonly lasts about 3 days, depending on the active system.
Care During Pregnancy
Pregnant pets are more vulnerable than ordinary adults. Their condition matters.
Watch:
- Health.
- Hunger and thirst.
- Energy and mood.
- Sickness or injury.
- Weather, bedding, nursery safety, and colony food/water stores.
Activity Restrictions
Pregnant pets should be kept away from dangerous work. Systems may block or skip pregnant pets for:
- Scouting, hunting, exploring, fishing, or other travel danger.
- Hostile raids and Perimeter Keeper deployment.
- High-risk training or combat.
- Other tasks that would be unsafe for the parent or litter.
Risk Factors
Pregnancy risk can rise when the colony is struggling. Possible pressure includes:
- Starvation, dehydration, exhaustion, sickness, or injury.
- Unsafe water or spoiled food.
- Wet or dirty bedding.
- Poor nursery support or lack of suitable care.
- Harsh weather, heat, cold, smoke, mold, flooding, or seasonal sickness.
- Certain mutation effects or species-specific vulnerabilities.
Birth Outcomes
A pregnancy may produce kits or babies when complete. In harsher conditions, complications or stillbirth risk may be possible where supported.
After Birth
Newborns need nursery support. The colony should have suitable beds, caretakers, wetnurses where useful, food, water, and safe conditions.

Echo Note - Mutation and genetics pressure
Pregnancy can be affected by inherited traits or mutations where supported. Some traits may increase heat, cold, water, sickness, stillbirth, or fragile-kit pressure.
A pretty mutation can still have teeth in the mechanics.
