Confirmation Gates and Irreversible Actions

Some Feral Rise actions are important enough that the site should ask players to confirm before continuing.

These are the actions where one tiny click can move an item, lock a pet, process remains, reset something, or otherwise make the forest do paperwork with consequences.

Why Confirmation Gates Exist

Confirmation gates help prevent accidental clicks on actions that are:

--permanent

--hard to undo

--dangerous to a pet or colony

--able to lock an item or pet

--connected to death, remains, reset, listings, or ownership changes

--likely to confuse players if clicked too quickly

Examples of Actions That May Need Confirmation

--listing an item in The Caucus

--listing a snail in The Caucus

--processing deceased remains

--disposing of tainted remains

--resetting account or colony progress

--donating, sacrificing, retiring, burying, releasing, abandoning, or permanently moving something

--using rare or dangerous items

--making choices that affect pets, snails, colony history, or inventory locks

Confirmation Text Should Explain the Consequence

A good confirmation should say what will happen in plain language.

For example:

--this item stack will leave usable inventory while listed

--this snail will enter Caucus stasis while listed

--this action may be permanent

--this pet may no longer be usable afterward

--this remains handling choice may affect colony safety or records

Server-Side Validation Still Matters

A checkbox is not enough by itself. Important actions should also be checked on the server so browser bugs, tampering, or weird page behavior cannot skip the confirmation.

Echo Note - Serious-action links

If a link leads to a reset, listing, deceased-care, rare item spending, or permanent choice, read the warning before confirming the action.
