Claiming Tiles

Neutral territory can be claimed as a colony expands beyond its current borders.

How Expansion Works

• Pets discover new land by scouting outward from known routes and territory.


• Connected neutral tiles can be claimed as the colony pushes into them.


• Biome, danger, weather, pet condition, and local pressure can affect how safe an expansion attempt feels.


• When there are no suitable nearby tiles, the world can expand so colonies are not boxed into a tiny decorative postage stamp forever.

Neutral Versus Occupied Tiles

A neutral tile is not the same as a tile held by another colony. Neutral connected land can be taken through exploration and scouting progress. Occupied land may lead to an optional challenge instead. See Challenging Enemy Tiles.

Preparation

A pet should not be sent into unfamiliar terrain in poor condition. Food, water, herbs, gear, energy, and carrying space matter. Unclaimed does not mean harmless. It merely means nobody has planted a flag in the danger yet.
