Snail Habitat
Snail Habitat
The Snail Habitat is the main care page for personal snails. It shows the selected snail, its status, care options, and links to the rest of the snail system.
What the Habitat Shows
A snail habitat may show:
- The selected snail and its visual rendering.
- Care meters such as hunger, water, humidity, happiness, energy, or similar values where supported.
- Bond and mourning status.
- Colony tank status when relevant.
- Links to bonding, trails, stories, breeding, registry, and other snail pages.
Care Actions
Habitat care may allow feeding, watering, humidity care, comfort actions, or other supported actions.
Bulk or multi-care actions should update meters properly after use. If the page supports caring for several amounts at once, the visible status should refresh so players are not staring at stale numbers like the snail has entered witness protection.
Mourning Visibility
A snail in mourning should still show the normal habitat UI. Mourning should appear as context and comfort options, not replace the whole page.
Mourning snails may still show:
- Navigation and selector tools.
- Tank and habitat status.
- Care and comfort actions.
- Story, trail, bonding, and breeding links when appropriate.
- Former companion context.
Renderer Notes
Snail visuals are handled through the shared snail renderer where supported. This helps keep snail images consistent across Habitat, Spiral, Registry, Bonding, Stories, and Colony Tank pages.
Safety Checks
The Habitat should respect owner access, mourning locks, Caucus stasis, dead-bond cleanup, and colony-tank status. Snails listed in The Caucus should not receive normal habitat care while listed.

Echo Note - Baby and breeding visibility
Habitat and registry pages may show baby snails, breeding timers, parent cooldowns, and adult-only locks where supported. Babies are part of the snail system, but they should not be treated as adult breeding snails until grown.
