Leaderboards

Leaderboards are ranking boards for scores, totals, records, or milestones.

They can make progress visible without needing every feature to become a competition.

Possible Leaderboard Types

Leaderboards may track:

--highest scores

--fastest wins

--most completed achievements

--rare discoveries

--snail race placements

--battle records

--fishing records

--side activity scores

--seasonal or temporary event progress

Seasonal Boards

Some boards may reset or rotate by season or event.

Seasonal boards can keep old accounts from permanently crushing newer players under the ancient boot of math.

Permanent Boards

Some boards may be all-time records.

Permanent boards are better for big milestones, rare outcomes, and long-term history.

Tie Handling

If players tie, the board may sort by time earned, total count, account, colony, or whatever rule the feature uses.

Hidden Systems

Some events should stay vague even if they feed a board.

The leaderboard can show a result without explaining the whole ritual of how the result happened.
