Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship
When a level-1 kit grows into a level-2 young pet, they move into the caretaker stage. This is when the colony can prepare them for adult work through mentorship.
Mentor Assignment
A young pet can be assigned a mentor connected to a colony role. The mentor should be a valid pet with the appropriate experience and availability. Without a mentor, the apprentice misses out on daily learning.
Role Training
- Healer – Focuses on intellect.
- Builder – Focuses on strength and intellect.
- Scout – Focuses on strength, agility, and intellect.
- Caretaker – Focuses on intellect and strength.
- Warrior – Focuses strongly on strength.
Why Apprenticeship Matters
Mentored young pets gain a head start before adulthood. When they mature, they are better prepared for the work their colony needs. A colony that ignores training may discover that enthusiasm alone does not patch walls, treat infections, or negotiate with a bear.
