Battle Types

Feral Rise has more than one kind of conflict. Not every battle follows the same rules, and not every defeat carries the same danger.

Fang–Pelt–Claw Sparring

Fang–Pelt–Claw is the colony sparring tradition used for player-versus-player matches.

It is a structured, nonlethal best-of-three duel:

  • Choose Fang, Pelt, or Claw each round.

  • Pets spend Health and Energy and may suffer minor injuries.

  • This mode cannot kill a pet directly. Health will not drop below 1 from Fang–Pelt–Claw itself.

  • Rewards, EXP, and occasional stat gains may be available.

Wilderness Battles

Travel outside the colony can lead to dangerous encounters with hostile creatures. These battles use the newer turn-based survival combat interface.

  • Actions appear beside your pet during the fight.

  • The battle log and Health bars show how the encounter is unfolding.

  • Fleeing may be possible, but retreat is not always safe.

  • Dangerous enemies can injure or kill an unprepared pet.

Territory Challenges

Scouting into a tile controlled by another colony may open an optional territory challenge. Your pet faces an AI-controlled defender based on the defending pet’s stats.

Winning can advance control of the tile. Losing can cost Health, supplies, and progress.

Important Difference

Fang–Pelt–Claw is a sparring mode. Wilderness and territory battles are survival encounters. Do not pack for them as though the bear has agreed to a friendly ritual exchange.
