The Foxes
Overview
It started slowly. Kits born with oddities more often than before. Then the colours started appearing. Colours unnatural to not just foxes themselves, but all mammals. Patterns too. Some helped them to hide, others identified them in moments. Mothers, unwilling to let their kits die to causes beyond their control, started it. The colonies. Deciding that it was safer to support one another or risk extinction, foxes began to band together. This coming together altered their lifestyle drastically. No longer did injuries mean death as healing techniques were discovered and taught. The ability to teach and care for one another slowed the rate of death just enough to keep them ahead. Then, they took to fortifying their homes, protecting the colony as a whole. Yes, foxes are no longer the solitary predator from eons ago, but they have become something more.

Foxes, in this day and age, come in a wide variety of colours and patterns. Some naturalistic, others vibrant, all unique. For this reason foxes have banded together, learned and taught one another. Colonies have formed to protect one another from a more hazardous world. Slowly, they have adapted and continue to do so. Now accepting new creatures amongst their ranks, understanding that as the world grows more dangerous, unity is the key to survival.
