🌿 Feral Rise Trading Card System
The Feral Rise Trading Card System is a collectible feature where players can open birch-bark card packs, discover unique artwork, organize their collection in binders, and trade cards with others.
Every pull is procedurally generated, making each card feel like a one-of-a-kind collectible.

🍃 Overview
Each card is created on a torn piece of birch bark. The front features:

• A hand-drawn silhouette (random template)
• A rarity-based artistic coloring effect (Common → Ultra)
• Optional special variants (like Signed/Glitch)
• Optional holographic overlay (Rare/Ultra only)
• Optional lineart variant effects (for even-number templates like 2/4/6+)
• A unique card instance saved permanently to your account

Cards are stored per-user (not per-colony), and your newest cards are shown first in your binder.

🌱 How to Open Packs
Card packs can be opened at:

Thistle’s
Birch Bark Emporium (Card Shop)

Each pack contains:

3 cards per pack

When you open a pack:

• A random rarity is rolled for each card
• A random silhouette template is chosen
• A birch-bark back is assigned (based on rarity/back selection rules)
• A unique card instance is generated and saved
• Cards appear in Your
Binder
(newest shown first, and always visible in “All Cards”)

🌈 Rarity System
Cards come in four main rarities:

Rarities & Chances (from $RARITY_CHANCES)
common – 65%
uncommon – 22%
rare – 9%
ultra – 4%
(If a roll ever falls through, it defaults to common.)

Special Variants
Cards can optionally roll a “special” tag (stored on the card instance as special_flag).
These are rare bonus modifiers that change the card’s appearance and/or presentation.

Special Flags & Chances (from $SPECIAL_FLAGS)
signed – 1.0% base chance
glitch – 0.6% base chance
fullart – 0.4% base chance
ghosted – 0.3% base chance

Only one of these applies, or it can be NULL (no special).

New: Modifier Expansion (Chaos System)
We are expanding the card system so cards can roll additional “mods” (extra visual effects, print quirks, textures, glows, etc.).

These will be collectible traits that stack on top of rarity and holo, creating “collector chase” combinations.
(Examples we’re adding: print miscuts, scanlines, RGB shift, textures like birch/linen, aura glows like ember/frost/void, and more.)

Holo Variants
Holo is an optional overlay layer.

Holo Styles (stored as holo_style)
holo-rainbow – rainbow sweep
holo-shard – shard / broken glass
holo-stars – star clusters
holo-wave – wavy shimmer
holo-grid – grid / mesh
holo-orbit – orbiting lights
holo-mist – soft mist / haze
holo-runes – rune/glyph streaks
holo-glitter – glitter sparkles
holo-rain – vertical rain streaks
holo-aurora – aurora bands
holo-pulse – central glowing pulse

Holo Rules (from rollHolo)
• Only Rare and Ultra can roll holo
• Base chance: HOLO_CHANCE = 0.10 (10%)
• If holo triggers, the style is chosen randomly from the list above
Stored as:
is_holo = 1
holo_style = one of those strings

🎨 Rarity Coloring Styles

Common
Commons randomly use one of these styling paths:
• Flat color
• Flat + subtle diagonal grain
• Flat + subtle polka dots
Commons can be any color on the RGB spectrum.

🌿 Uncommon
Uncommons are gradient-based and roll from patterns like:
• Smooth diagonal gradient
• Soft crosshatch
• Diagonal chevrons
• Scattered light spots
Uncommons are “clean gradients with gentle texture.”

🍄 Rare
Rares roll stronger patterns on top of gradients, such as:
• Diagonal stripes
• Bold polka dots
• Honeycomb / hex vibe
• Zigzag bands
• Scale / fan arcs
• Ray / starburst (conic-gradient)
Rares are “strong pattern + gradient.”

🌟 Ultra Rare
Ultras are maximum-layer chaos cards and can stack multiple pattern types like:
• Dense stripes + glow
• Glitter bursts + swirl
• Kaleidoscope diamonds
• Nebula clouds
• Concentric rings
• Scales + rays + multi-gradient
Ultras are “stacked chaos patterns over 3–4 bright colors.”

🖊️ Lineart Variants (Even-Number Templates)
Some templates have “line versions” (for example: fox1 vs fox2, deer1 vs deer2).
These line variants can add an extra ink/outline layer for more detailed card fronts.

New Update: We are updating the system so these line variants can roll different ink outcomes, including:
• Classic black ink
• Chaos-colored ink (neon/fun colors)
This effect is designed to be collectible and consistent across the shop, binder, and trades once the final shared renderer is locked in.
🌪️ Extended Card Modifiers & Chaos Effects
In addition to rarity, holo, and special variants, Feral Rise trading cards can roll a wide range of additional visual modifiers.
These modifiers are designed to make cards highly collectible and allow the same silhouette to appear in many distinct forms.

Multiple modifiers may stack on a single card.

🖊️ Ink & Lineart Modifiers
(Some silhouettes include lineart variants.)

These affect how the card’s outline appears:

Black Ink – Classic dark lineart
Chaos Ink – Neon or fun-colored outlines
Dual-Stroke Ink – Dark inner line with a glowing outer edge
Glow Ink – Lines emit a soft colored glow
Void Ink – Dark lines with eerie purple/blue aura
Aurora Ink – Shifting multicolor outline
Bioluminescent Ink – Bright green/blue glow effect

Ink style is rolled per card and is consistent wherever the card appears.

Aura & Energy Effects
These add atmospheric glow or energy around the card or silhouette:

Ember Aura – Floating sparks / warm glow
Frost Aura – Cool blue light / icy haze
Verdant Aura – Soft green nature glow
Void Aura – Dark, cosmic energy
Radiant Glow – Bright magical bloom
Shadow Bloom – Dark halo with contrast pop

🧵 Texture & Material Mods
These affect the “print material” feel of the card:

Birch Texture – Natural bark grain
Parchment – Aged paper look
Linen – Fabric weave texture
Canvas – Rough painterly grain
Frosted Glass – Soft, hazy overlay
Glitter Stock – Subtle sparkle flecks
Matte Finish – Reduced shine
Gloss Finish – Enhanced highlights

🖨️ Print & Misprint Effects
Inspired by real-world collectible misprints. These are rare and highly sought after:

Off-Center Cut – Artwork slightly shifted
Registration Error – RGB color split
Ink Bleed – Smudged edges
Over-Inked – Dark, heavy print
Under-Inked – Faded / washed look
Ghost Print – Faint duplicate image
Cropped Art – Zoomed or clipped image

📺 Glitch & Digital Effects
These add corrupted or digital-style chaos:

Scanlines – VHS / CRT lines
Static Noise – Grainy distortion
Pixel Shear – Broken pixel shifts
Chromatic Aberration – Color edge separation
Data Glitch – Blocky visual corruption

Foil & Advanced Holo Mods
In addition to standard holo styles, some cards can roll enhanced foil effects:

Starfoil – Twinkling star shimmer
Crystal Foil – Faceted light streaks
Confetti Foil – Random sparkle dots
Oil Slick Foil – Color-shifting sheen
Double Holo – Two holo layers stacked (extremely rare)

🖼️ Borders, Frames & Stamps
Visual decorations added to the card’s edges or corners:

Rune Frame – Glowing symbols
Vine / Thorn Border – Nature motifs
Frost Border – Ice-crystal edges
Ember Border – Burning glow
Event Stamp – Seasonal or special mark
Artist Proof – Collector-style proof mark

🌌 Mythic & Ultra-Rare Effects
These effects are extremely rare and may only appear on high-rarity cards:

Reality Tear – Subtle space-warp distortion
Void Corruption – Dark cosmic overlay
Living Card – Animated CSS shimmer
Double Exposure – Two silhouettes layered
Prototype Print – Experimental frame/layout

🏷️ How Modifiers Are Stored
Each card permanently stores its modifiers as part of its card data (for example in special_flag or expanded modifier fields).
Once a card is generated, its modifiers never change and will display consistently in:

• The Card Shop
• Your Binder
• Public Binders
• Trades

🧠 Collector Notes
• Cards can stack multiple modifiers
• Some modifiers are rarer than holo
• Two cards with the same silhouette may look completely different
• Certain combinations are considered “chase cards”
🍂 Card Storage
Cards you own are stored in your trading card tables as permanent card instances, including data such as:

• Card ID
• User ID
• Template / Image path
• Rarity
• Special flag(s) / modifiers
• Holo state + holo style
• Created timestamp

These cards appear in your:
