Site updates- 8-26-26 to 9-3-26
--added Pinecones- these are a new progression currency that you can earn through different things around the site and use toward upgrades and other progression stuff.
--added the new progression system with Pinecones- so doing things around the site can actually build toward improving/unlocking things instead of everything being based around just crafting.
--added the Notebook- this keeps track of things you've discovered/learned while playing and gives me somewhere to put information that you actually uncover instead of just dumping everything on you from the start.
--added Ham and Mouse- they're new helpers around the site to make figuring out this version of Feral Rise a little less confusing.
--added Ham's starter/tutorial stuff- so newer players have something actually walking them through getting started instead of just being thrown at the site and going "okay now what." XD
--added Mouse help to different areas/pages- so you can get more information about what something does where you actually need it.
--added little Ham and Mouse scavenger trails- they're optional little trails/clues you can find around the site and can give Pinecones/material rewards. They're private to your own account too so somebody else finding theirs doesn't steal yours.
--did more work on the Notebook after adding it- made new entries easier to see, added read/unread stuff, mark all as read and made the entries themselves easier to use.
--added Colony Aides- you can now recruit aides that can help with different things around your colony.
--added the Aide Camp and upgrades for it- you can increase how many aides you're able to have instead of being stuck with the starting amount.
--added jobs/work for Colony Aides so they actually DO things instead of just existing on a roster.
--added training and retraining for aides so you can improve them and change what you're doing with them.
--added returning aides too if you decide you don't want to keep one.
--added an activity area for the aides so you can see what they've been doing.
--added more information to the aides like their coat, markings, details and gear so they feel more like actual little characters and not just stat blocks.
--gave the aides actual portraits instead of the placeholder stuff.
--organized the Colony Aides area more with different sections for your aides, recruiting and activity so it's not all crammed together.
--made aide training easier- you can train by +1, +5, +10, +15 or go to max instead of clicking the same thing over and over forever.
--fixed a bunch of issues with aide jobs/forms/training that came up while we were building the system.
--fixed aide training so it updates properly without needing to refresh the whole page.
--fixed some Pinecone transaction problems that were causing issues with things like aide training and other newer Pinecone stuff.
--did more with the Elder Hearth and elder pets- gave elders more useful roles/things they can still do around the colony instead of them basically just sitting around waiting to die.
--did more with old age so being an elder is more of an actual stage instead of just "you are old now, good luck." XD
--did more with the Mood system so mood matters more and pets have more ways of showing that they need help.
--added more needs-help indicators so you don't have to dig through everything just to realize a pet is doing badly.
--updated training and some other actions so a pet being in bad shape/mood actually matters more.
--did more work on mutations- added/fixed missing mutation options and cleaned up some of the mutation definitions.
--added better mutation art handling so mutations can actually show correctly on pets.
--I also added a few more mutations and art to go with them
--updated the mutation art system so changing one mutation doesn't mean I have to completely redo every single pet that could possibly use it.
--fixed mutation editor/save problems where existing mutations could disappear, get overwritten or not save correctly.
--added/fixed more mutation choices including some that weren't properly available before.
--did more work on resource stacks and spoilage- made similar stacks merge better while still keeping the important spoilage information.
--added easier ways to deal with spoiled stuff instead of having to remove everything one tiny stack at a time.
--did more with composting/tossing spoiled resources and made that whole thing less annoying to manage.
--did more snail fixes- breeding tanks, care locations, feeding/water/soil stuff, cooldowns and where snails go after breeding should all behave better now.
--fixed some weird snail state/cooldown issues that weren't staying consistent.
--did more work on recipe discovery so recipes you haven't discovered yet don't accidentally tell you exactly what they are.
--cleaned up some older recipe/journal information that was giving away things it shouldn't.
--fixed leadership/succession stuff so if one of your pets becomes the new colony leader the site actually TELLS you instead of expecting you to randomly notice that you're in charge now.
--added more information to those leadership changes so it can tell you why/how the new leader ended up becoming leader.
--polished the colony page some more- still needs work though.
--did more work on the public colony pages so there's more useful information when you're looking at somebody else's colony.
--fixed the den area because everything was getting squished together and it looked awful. XD
--did more cleanup on the den/colony layout so pets and den areas have more room and are easier to look through.
--went through a bunch of the older fix list too and found things that had already been fixed during previous patches, so I cleaned those out instead of accidentally trying to fix the same thing twice.
--did a LOT of little readability/UI fixes while going through all of this too- buttons, text, tabs, information placement and generally trying to make things easier to understand instead of making you hunt around the page for everything.
