Getting Started!

Welcome to Feral Rise. This guide is a WIP and the writer always needs sleep. Sorry about that.
-------------------------------------
Starting out:

I highly recommend you newbies head over to the adoption center to adopt your first pets before doing anything else!
Your first pet will automatically be assigned as your active pet, which will be your avatar until it dies.
I recommend choosing a male pet first, as your active pet will get bonus hunting/explore/scouting turns, but pregnant pets wouldn't be able to hunt/explore/scout, wasting a lot of the benefit of an active pet on inability to use it. And I recommend adopting a female pet of the same species for breeding, which will be your main way to get pets until your population grows stable.

Different species can't crossbreed!

Joining a colony OR making a new colony:

Both are valid ways to be in a colony. As the main game loop can't function if you're colonyless, you HAVE to choose between the two options:

Making a new colony gives you the ability to change pets' roles, do diplomacies and steal resources from other colonies. You will most likely be alone at the start, and what you start with will be all you have.

Being your own colony's leader has its benefits, but...

Joining a colony is a great way to join a community of pets you can breed with(permission of the owner), but the colony leader will be the one changing/deciding your pets' roles. Colony wide decision will be all on them, and you will need to wait for role change, but you can request/recommend roles for your pets.
--------------------------------
Roles:

Basically, your pets' jobs. Healer heals injured pets every rollover. Caretaker feeds and train colony's pets and adolescents every rollover. Scouts can scout 5 times every day(except for ALL/scout active pet, who gets 10 times)and go to scout every rollover too. Warrior is a better scout who gets x2 reward from scouting, but also cost double the need and energy to do their job. All pets can hunt and explore, regardless of roles.
--------------------------------
Hunting:
Probably the most reliable way to get meat. Your pets get 5 times a day.
Exploring:
Another minigame for resources that sometimes gives you difficult choices between risk and reward.
Scouting: You send your pets out farther than the normal range. It'll most likely cost more hunger/thirst and energy, but they may bring back great haul of resources or even wanderers, which can possibly be invited into your colony as new pets!
--------------------------------
Main game loop:

The daily things you should do every day!

Definitely train your pets for the daily stat gain

You should breed your females and make sure they're fed

Early game, you should scout for wanderers, which are new pets and will be the only other way you can get new pets, other than breeding.

Scouting should bring enough food and water, but if any fall short, remember, you can hunt and explore!

Make sure your pets are fully healed, fed, hydrated, and slept enough. Before leaving the game, do put them all to bed first.

Minigames:
You can battle for resources and stat at this page

You can claim and collect cards at the the trading card hub. It's only a collecting game with no main mechanic tied to it right now, but you can get pretty cards.

You can collect resources at this page and also claim territories and start fights for fun.

You can dress up your pets with items from giveaways

That'll be all for now. -Moon
